Looking to assist large and small pastoral businesses in understanding and improving their business performance, our Managing Director and Senior Consultant, Ian Mclean, founded Bush Agribusiness in 2009.
Having grown up on a sheep and cattle property and with a background in accounting, agriculture, and consultancy roles, including work with the NT Department of Primary Industries and as Executive Officer at the NT Cattlemen's Association, Ian brings together science and economics to help producers make informed business decisions.
Working alongside a team of experienced experts, and specialising in client relations, project management, and facilitating producer groups, Ian is grateful to partner with talented and motivated people across the cattle industry.
When not travelling to the far corners of Queensland cattle country or visiting producers throughout the Northern Territory and Western Australia, Ian enjoys spending time with his family and keeping active outdoors.

Joining the Bush Agribusiness team in 2014 as Administration Manager, Joanne Herley is an integral part of our growth and success.
Growing up in southwest Queensland, and having a professional background in agronomy, recruitment and customer service, Joanne wears many hats in her role.
From accounts and PA responsibilities to supporting team members and overseeing daily operations, she excels in organisation, business analysis, client interactions, and event organisation, ensuring smooth operations and strategic support for the team.
Outside of work, Joanne prioritises family time and actively participates in her children's sports activities. She also enjoys volunteering at the local hockey club and travelling with her loved ones.

With over 25 years in the agriculture industry, our Senior Agribusiness consultant, Simone, has extensive experience in business management, strategy, and consultancy.
Her background includes roles as CEO of a not-for-profit in Emerald, and work in natural resource management and beef extension with the NT DPI.
Having partnered with our team for over 10 years delivering Business EDGE workshops, and helping clients with planning and strategy, Simone officially joined the team full-time in 2023.
In her role, she works with clients on business strategy, family board governance, and group facilitation, helping producers to enhance their business performance.
When not at work, Simone loves to time with her family, and managing their many activities.

Originally from Cambodia and moving to Australia in 2020, our Management Accountant, Oudam Hunphy, brings a wealth of experience in accounting and finance to the Bush Agribusiness team.
Oudam's background includes working as an account manager for a large-scale wholesale supermarket and as an auditor at Ernst & Young. His keen interest in agriculture saw him move to Australia to complete his Master of Agriculture in 2022, where he met Ian as a guest lecturer.
Since joining the team, Oudam has been responsible for preparing timely and accurate business analyses and supporting client interactions. He enjoys getting out and visiting the cattle properties, and seeing the numbers come to life.
Outside work, Oudam enjoys playing soccer and spending time with friends in Toowoomba.

Passionate about learning from progressive producers and assisting clients in analysing and improving their businesses through informed decision-making, our Associate, Kirstie, brings extensive experience to our team.
Growing up surrounded by agriculture near Rockhampton and now managing a mixed farming operation outside of Capella, Central Queensland, Kirstie’s career spans strategic business planning, agribanking, animal health and roles in event management and product marketing.
Kirstie’s varied experience allows her to quickly adapt and offer valuable expertise to our clients, working on special projects and client-specific assignments such as market analysis and business performance assessments.
An avid rider, Kirstie enjoys any opportunity she gets to spend time on her horses and with her family on their beef and cropping property.
